This painting explores the oneness and interconnectedness of the universe. In this reality, all things are linked beyond time and space, across past, present and future: living and non-living, physical and unseen.

Threads of fate weave every being and every moment into a unified tapestry. The universes within the work evoke quantum particles of consciousness, resonating across invisible wave fields. Like entangled forces, each consciousness influences another, sending ripples throughout the wider web of reality.

Our mortal lives are fleeting, but the work imagines the soul as an eternal presence within an infinite, ever-evolving cosmos. Each individual consciousness belongs to a greater collective consciousness: connected, responsive, and inseparable from the whole.

The painting invites us to ask: what if this is not the only universe we inhabit? What if countless universes exist beyond our perception, unfolding through dimensions we cannot yet see? Within this vast mystery, our actions still matter. Every thought, choice and act of compassion creates a resonance that can reach far beyond ourselves.

The story behind the work

This piece was commissioned by a collector in Kyoto who trusted our vision. It was an omakase work, and their only request was a universe theme. We completed it in July.

It took a while to finish, and it holds hidden layers of emotion, memory and untold stories. Under Mina’s final painting rests an earlier painting by Sena. It was covered and transformed, but it is still carried within the piece. At different moments we got emotional and painted over each other’s designs.

While we created it, we moved through sadness, grief, despair, hope, rediscovery, healing and gratitude. We were facing difficult times. There were moments when we didn’t want to paint anymore, and we nearly gave up on art and the dream we had been holding onto.

Yet this painting became part of our healing. It helped us reconnect with ourselves, rediscover our purpose, and believe in our vision again.

Art can heal. Art can be therapy. Even when life feels dark, we all need light, hope, and something to believe in.

We are all intertwined, and each of us has the power to help shape the world.
