Statement:

Messengers of Mother Earth:

Enlightened by the divinity in nature and unconditional love we constantly receive from Mother Earth, we create art to express universal love, the most powerful energy in the world and the source of everything in the universe that connects us all.

Peace, Love, Freedom and Truth are the main themes of our artworks, hoping to heal, awaken, and liberate the souls of ours and others.

Through channeling with Earth and dialogue with nature and spiritual realm, we hope to convey the message of divine love from Earth to pass on to one another and future generations – to live in harmony with nature and with each other with love, respect, and kindness, as we are all interconnected and living interdependently.

Biography: 

MinSen (Mina & Sena) is an identical twin duo of self-taught  contemporary painters, peace activists and world adventurers. 

Born and raised in Tokyo and Kita-Karuizawa Japan with Korean roots, they are currently based in their atelier in Kita-Karuizawa Japan and creating and privately showcasing their works there. 

Since middle school, they have lived in places such as Switzerland, Australia, Hong Kong, Korea, and the United States.

From a young age, they loved  creating and studied art in a boarding high school in Switzerland.

However, they took an opposite path to explore the world from a business perspective first: Sena working for a financial company Goldman Sachs based in Hong Kong and Mina working for Airline company AirAsia based in Tokyo by both doing office works. 

While exploring the world during their soul-searching and self-discovery  journey , Minsen reconnected to their true selves and  re-discovered their dream, passion and mission and evolved into artists.

In pursuit of truth and enlightenment, occasionally they go on an adventurous spiritual journey with a one way ticket where their souls are called to visit, intuitively following the fragments of the truth collected in every destination in the world. 

For 1 year from October 2023 to October 2024, they were on a pilgrimage to the Middle East and France: Cyprus, Egypt, Jerusalem, and Paris, having a nomadic lifestyle: setting up temporary small ateliers from place to place for creation – diving deeper into the field of theology, learning more about the essence of religions and coexistence with God in the meantime.

During our 7 months stay in Jerusalem, we engaged with religious practices such as praying, meditating and going to churches, shrines and mosques, we had theophanic experiences to encounter the Holy Spirit. Currently, we are still developing and deepening intimate connections with God and nature back in Japan. 

Art Style: 

With a hint of magic and miracles within limitless imagination of a free spirit, our pop and dreamy, surrealistic and fantastical symbolic paintings reflect the pure love and joy of one’s inner consciousness, like a child’s heart, all intricately hand-painted with either acrylic or oil paint. 

Inspired by nature and life as a gift with a series of miraculous moments and encounters, most of our artworks are collaborative efforts between two of us – identical twins with opposite characters like Ying and Yang that bring different elements unified in harmony and balance onto canvases.

Every canvas is a dynamic cinema with joyful yet meaningful and philosophical storytelling plots of life lessons – a fusion of our courageous real life stories with mythology and folklore.

Our storytelling artworks are a culmination of countless epiphanic and theophanic moments of our lifelong spiritual pilgrimage that present fragments of the memories of our soul that were collected everywhere in the world during our soul-searching journey.

We aim to make the invisible yet most essential aspects of life felt to the heart or visible through the symbolic visual language and atmosphere we create in our artworks, by ensouling unique and adventurous stories with universal perspectives that we have gained from our eccentric life experiences and encounters within our ongoing lifelong spiritual journey. 

We immerse viewers into the mystical spiritual realm by adding a feeling of interconnectedness of the universe by visually expressing synchronicities and serendipity – meaningful coincidences that appear connected or related between events or matters, by the use of symbols, colors, storytelling, etc. Our art is like a riddle or mystery of the universe for viewers to explore. 

Dynamic motion and flow of emotions  are added by applying our imaginative sense when creating magical characters,  breathing life and emotions into them. Moreover, a tranquil sense of stillness and calmness is added by often embedding sacred geometrical symbols and painting balanced symbolic landscapes, plants and scenery of the natural world. 

 

 

 

母なる地球のメッセンジャーとして：

平和、愛、自由、そして真実が私たちのアート作品の主なテーマであり、自他共の魂を癒し、目覚めさせ、解放すること、皆の幸せを願って制作活動をしています。

神聖なる自然と地球から常にいただいている無条件の愛に導かれ、感謝の気持ちで心が溢れる日々。

私たちすべてを結び繋ぎ、世界で最も強力なエネルギーで宇宙のあらゆるものの源である ”愛”を表現するアートを創っています。

地球の愛は無限ですが、地球の資源は有限。

もし人間が今と変わらず欲のまま生きてゆけば、いつか地球は滅亡してしまうでしょう。

地球との通信、自然や精神世界との対話を通して、私たちは地球からの神聖な愛のメッセージを、現世と未来の世代に伝え残したいと願っています。

それは、それぞれの違いを受け入れて、お互いと自然と調和しながら愛と尊敬と優しさを持って共に協力して生きていこうというメッセージ。

私たちは、地球上の生態系の中で互いに支え合いながら、相互依存的に繋がって生きていて、誰も互いがいなければ一人では生きられない。

だからこそ、多種多様生、多様な文化や価値観、背景を持つ人々が持つ”違い”を受け入れ尊重し、感謝して生きるべきだと思います。

 

目標と使命：

絵画を通して、魂を解放し、癒し、目覚めさせ、世界に光とポジティブさをもたらすことで、鑑賞者を内なる真実と自由へと導くことを望んでいます。

社会問題とその解決策を常に考えながら、憎しみから生じる世界の様々な問題の根源を愛と芸術によって癒したい。

声なき人々や弱い立場にある人々や生き物に力を与え、時には声となり、世界平和に貢献することを目標としています。

芸術には真実と正義を代弁し、社会と人類に影響を与えながらより良い世界を形作る力があると信じており、芸術作品を通して、他者の想像力を刺激し、戦争や暴力のない平和で調和のとれた世界を創造することを目指しています。

【略歴】

MINSEN (ミンセン)（ミナ＆セナ）は、現代画家、平和活動家、そして世界を旅する冒険家として活動する一卵性双生児のアーティストデュオです。

韓国系のルーツで東京と北軽井沢で生まれ育ち、現在は北軽井沢のアトリエを拠点に作品を制作しています。ほとんどの作品が、正反対の性格を持ち合わせた2人のコラボレーションの油彩画かアクリル画です。

中学時代からスイス、オーストラリア、香港、韓国、アメリカなど様々な国で暮らし、

幼い頃から創作活動が好きで、スイスの寄宿制高校で美術を学びました。

自分の好きなアートとは違った視点から世界を探求することになり、それぞれアートとは異なるビジネスの道へ歩むことに。

姉のセナは香港に拠点を置く金融会社ゴールドマン・サックスで、妹のミナは東京に拠点を置く航空会社エアアジアで事務職として働きました。

2人で同時期に退社後、魂の探求と自分探しの旅の中で世界を巡り、真の自己と深く繋がり、夢、情熱、

そして使命を再発見し、アーティストへと成長を遂げました。

真実と悟り境地を追い求める中で私たちは時折、片道切符を手に、魂が呼び起こされる冒険に満ちた精神的な旅に出ます。

世界のあらゆる場所で集めた真実の断片を元に、魂が呼ばれる場所へと直感的に辿ります。

2023年10月から2024年10月までの1年間、私たちは中東とフランスを巡礼し、キプロス島、エジプト、エルサレム、パリを巡り、遊牧民のような生活を送りました。

各地で一時的な小さなアトリエを構え、創作活動を行い、その間、神学の分野を学び、宗教の本質、そして神との共存についてより深く学びました。

エルサレムでの7ヶ月間の滞在中、私たちは祈りや瞑想、教会、神社、モスクへの参拝といった宗教的実践に携わり、聖霊に出会う神の顕現体験をしました。

現在、日本に戻り、神と自然との親密なつながりを育み、深めています。

変化し続ける時代と変容し続ける世界の瞬間瞬間を描くことで、時間が経った後でもアートはその時代その瞬間に、想像とマインドの中でタイムトラベルできるタイムカプセルようなものだと私たちは感じています。

100年後の未来の人たちへのメッセージとして、私たちが2020年代に何を考えて感じていたか”生きた証”として残したい。地球のスピリットを代弁して、戦争を絶対に繰り返してはいけないことに誓いをたててほしい。

アートを通して、愛溢れる平和な世界を想像しながら、より良い地球(Home)を創造したいと願っています。

私たちの絵は、魂探求の旅の途中で起きた数々の冒険や、その際に出会ったたくさんの人々から受けたインスピレーションを元にリアリティとイマジネーションを織り交ぜたストーリー調の絵画が多いです。

運命が巡り合わせた一人一人との出逢いと限れた一瞬一瞬の時間を大切に生き切りながら、より多くの作品を残したいという気持ちで日々制作に取り組んでいます。
